What is Cacao?
Cacao is chocolate in its purest form. For thousands of years the Mayans and Aztecs have used Cacao for its medicinal and healing benefits. Cacao is an amazing source of magnesium, iron, and antioxidants. It can help reduce stress, anxiety, depression and increase energy, all while promoting feelings of bliss!
Did you know chocolate comes from a bean, similar to a coffee bean?
Chocolate is made from Cacao beans — or rather seeds — from the Theobroma cacao tree. This plant produces large, pod-like fruits, each containing 20–60 beans surrounded by a sticky, sweet-tart white pulp called mucilage. Our Cacao beans are handpicked on a family farm in Upala, Costa Rica where they are then fermented, sundried and stone ground in an artisanal machine. Our cacao is sun dried to preserve its natural nutrients and flavor, resulting in a product that is pure and delicious!

Surrounded by volcanic hills; six varieties of heirloom cacao grow interwoven with plantains, cardamom & other fruits. You will be sure to taste the heart of the land and the neighboring plants in each bite of our 100% naturally sweetened cacao; resulting in a treasured, inviting experience and instant bliss!
